Why T&C's associate shopping editor reaches for this refreshing formula to chill out.

Here at T&C, we pride ourselves on our discerning eye for quality. With Tried & True, our editors will give you an inside look at the pieces they simply cannot live without.

As a shopping editor at T&C, I do a lot of product testing. And I mean, a lot of testing. On any given week, I'm trying the latest and greatest in beauty ahead of their releases. Cool, right? The thing is, though, it's not very often I come across something that wows me on first use. When it pertains to skin, products require weeks and weeks—sometimes even months—of testing to see results. But earlier this summer, I got my hands on the new Clarins Cryo-Flash Mask before the August 1 national launch—and let me tell you, I've never been more excited to share a review.

Not to sound dramatic, but I was blown away the moment the icy-fresh formula touched my face. It is literally like a cryotherapy facial in a jar. Formulated with Clarins's proprietary blend of the molecule M.G.A., a menthol derivative, and organic evening primrose oil, the refreshing mask dramatically cools your skin an instant and delivers this slight tingling effect, but in the best possible way. The French beauty brand carried out a clinical test on 60 people and found that the mask lowers skin's temperature by 7°F, which is two times colder than traditional cryotherapy tools. That's how cool we're talking.

But the mask does so much more than invigorate the skin. In 10 minutes, it visibly plumps and perks up a dull-looking appearance, minimizes the look of pores, boosts hydration, and provides an unmatched youthful radiance. (Clarins also says that it can help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles with continued use, but that's not a skin concern I have to deal with just yet.) I use it twice a week and find that the cooling feeling gets even more intense (again, in the best possible way) after you wipe or wash off the access. I'm not exaggerating when I say I truly look and feel like I just walked out of an hour long facial after every use.

Texture-wise, the mask is super creamy, has the perfect thickness, and applies to skin easily and smoothly. It also has this slightly minty aroma that adds to the luxurious sensorial experience. I truly can't find enough words to explain how much I have been loving it. And especially now, with no end in sight for this atrocious summer season we're having, it really has become the skin savior I look forward to most the two times a week I apply it. So my parting words to you: run, don't walk!
